Residents urged to Step Out!
Residents of Helena sheltered accommodation schemes in Billinge and Blackbrook, celebrated the launch of their Urbanwalks booklets with a guided walk joined by local Saints celebrity ‘Boots’.
Halton & St Helens PCT and Helena Housing have recently worked in partnership with the Urbanwalks company to produce a booklet featuring six independent walks routes around Billinge and Blackbrook. The booklets are designed to encourage local residents, particularly those who live in sheltered accommodation schemes to become more active with the use of easy to use walks maps.
Each booklet contains information on how to become more active and local services including the Choices Referral Team and the volunteer led ‘Get Yourself Lively.. Walking’ scheme.
Booklets are available free of charge from Chemists, Doctors Surgeries, Post Offices and local shops from Billinge and Blackbrook. Alternatively, please contact Hannah Jones, Health Improvement Specialist – Physical Activity for Halton & St Helens PCT on 01744 697433.
