Service Area Round-Up
Saints Service Area got their season off to a great start with three out of the four rep teams emerging triumphant over Oldham.
The under 12s won 42-0, 13s 22-16 and 14s 22-0 whilst the u15s were just pipped 20-24.
This week’s featured game is the 14s:
In the first five minutes Oldham looked strong playing up hill in hot conditions but then Saints got into their stride and opened up the Oldham defence to score in the centre via Jonathan Ford with a conversion from Jack Jones.
The rest of the first half was dominated by Saints and they were comfortable leaders 16-0 at half time.
In the heat the second half was a test of fitness and character but our defence was good and we added six more points to come out good winners.
The other scorers in the game were Chris Webster and Jonathan again in the first half and a hard won try from Ste Wilson in the second half. Jack kicked two more conversions.
