The St. Helens Service Area is committed to promoting and developing Rugby League in St. Helens.

It offers player development and representative pathways for young players and support for senior players within the game, as well as club and coach development opportunities.

The service area also deals with Match Official development, schools’ Rugby League, Women and Girls Rugby League, volunteer co-ordination and accessing funding.

As part of its remit, it organises half time games for under 8s on first team match day and seeks to encourage more young people to take up the sport in the town. 

Every year, it enters teams for the Rugby League Service Area tournament at 12s to 15s giving lads and coaches from the area chance to win a place at Regional and the National camps. 

From here, National Representative Rugby League becomes a possibility as does the possibility of scholarships to professional clubs and on to play for the Dream Team of Saints!

There is also an u18s competition which we work with BARLA and the RFL on to pick an U18s Great Britain side.
