KICK START THIS SEASON WITH A WARM FRONT GRANT

Supporters of St Helens RLFC could be eligible for help with heating costs this season.

Harland Rise, this weeks match day sponsors, are working with Warm Front to provide householders who receive certain benefits to apply for the Government funded Warm Front Scheme, which provides up to £2700 to help pay for home insulation and heating improvements, such as loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, draught proofing, central heating, boiler repairs and replacements.

In areas where gas connections are not available, some households may qualify for up to £4000 to help pay for oil central heating.

Since 2005, Warm Front have tackled the issue of cold, damp homes by assisting thousands of households with heating and insulation improvements and spending over £3 million pounds in St Helens!

However, many more homes across St Helens could be entitled to help. Scheme Director, Adrian Hull, is urging fans not to be complacent this season and pick up the phone to apply today:

“It’s a great shame that the recent mild weather has put a lot of people off applying for the scheme. However, don’t be caught “offside” you never know when the next cold snap is round the corner.

“We want everyone to know about the help available to them through Warm Front and take the necessary steps today to call the Warm Front helpline free and find out how they can have a warmer, healthier winter and lower fuel bills. “

Saints Star James Graham is also encouraging fans to visit the promotional stands at Friday’s game “I think that this scheme is brilliant and its great that Harland Rise and Eaga have chosen us to deliver the message to the people of St Helens

Those likely to be eligible for a grant include people over the age of 60, householders with a child under 16, pregnant mothers with a MAT B1 certificate and people suffering from disabilities or a long-term illness.

To qualify, householders should be in receipt of an income or disability related benefit and live in their own home or rent it from a private landlord.
