The Challenge Cup and Saints’ Star Jon Wilkin made a special visit to Haydock ARLFC’s under 10s as part of the build up to an exciting semi final day for both clubs.
Haydock are taking part in the curtain raiser to Saints clash with Leeds at the Galpharm Stadium on July 26.
Jon took time out to speak to the kids and pose for snaps but the real stars were the under 10s who got chance to hold the Challenge Cup.
Anthony Atkinson from Haydock ARLFC said: “On behalf of Haydock ARLFC and the Under 10s team in particular, I would like to thank Mike Appleton from Saints for making tonight possible, everybody was thrilled to have the chance to get their hands on the Challenge Cup. (As a Wigan fan, I hope it's the last time this year that Jon Wilkin gets to hold it as well).
“Many thanks also, to Jon Wilkin and Bernard Platt (Saints Official photographer) who took the time out of their schedules to bring the Challenge Cup down tonight. I'm sure that Jon will have a permanent grin on his face, as he posed for that many photos.
“Jon was a credit to himself and a great ambassador for St Helens RLFC for the way he conducted himself and the way in which he made the kids feel so special.
“For many people, the highlight of the night was our own photographer taking a photo of myself and Eric with Jon and the Challenge Cup, the only time any of the Pie men have been near it since Murrayfield!!!
