Saints’ current Stewards have now attained their NVQ level 2 training in Spectator Safety.

The scheme saw each student attend four training sessions, followed by ‘on the job’ assessments by independent assessors.

This is in addition to the pre-season training that Saints’ Ground Safety Officer Bob Singleton delivers to the safety stewards.

Bob said: “Each steward has to be trained to a nationally recognized standard to be able to fulfill his/her duties.

“The NVQ demonstrates that they are proficient in these skills.”

54 stewards passed in all.
