Fozzard Makes Saints Return

PROP forward Nick Fozzard is to return to St Helens next season on a one-year contract.

 

He spent five seasons at St Helens before going to Hull KR on a two-year deal, which has been curtailed for his return to the Saints.

 

Nick Fozzard stated: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back at the Saints. I had a fantastic five seasons there and it will be great to be back with my old team mates and friends. The Saints fans can expect my absolute best for them next season.”

 

Saints Head Coach Mick Potter added: “We’ve definitely suffered from not having one of our front line props for the whole of this season due to Jason Cayless injury and Nick Fozzard will help fill that role well for us next season.”

  Absolutely awesome news. I loved fozzie and was gutted when Saints let him go. Great to see him back in a red vee.

  Welcome back Nick! We really have missed having a forward with the enthusiasm and bravery that you showed in your five years with us. Clough and Hargreaves have played really well all season but lack the power and experience of a top prop forward. They will get there with age but Saints need the real deal like Foz now, giving them time to learn their trade.

  On the back of our recruitment for next season, i really hope we are following on from the signing of Wheeler, Ashurst and Dixon with iminent deals for others. We need to nail down Moore, Eastmond and future captain Graham to 5 year deals like the pies have done with Sam Tomkins. I think this will give a continuing positive effect on season tickets and send out a clear message of intent. Go for it Saints!

  Fozz has just never settled at Hull KR. How many players leave one club to join another, never settle and become journeymen. I am delighted Fozz is back. A bit of biff in the front row and someone to help Jammer out. Our squad is looking very strong for next season with the likes of Soliola coming in and Wheeler, Lomax, Ashurst and Dixon having come through from within.

  One seasoned pro back in Fozzy is good news but we have let to many internationals leave in recent years without replacing them.Although we have some excellent young talent at the club we need to SERIOUSLY look at our policy of not gving players in their thirties two year deals.
