KEIRON Cunningham expects Kyle Eastmond to step up to the plate when Saints kick off their Super League XV campaign against Hull.
Whilst most of the talk ahead of the clash, which kicks off at 5.45pm on Saturday February 6, has focussed on Sean Long’s return to his old stomping ground, Saints’ number nine believes the young scrum half can handle the pressure.
“We have lost two experienced players in Sean Long and Lee Gilmour but we have the personnel to make the step up,” he said. “For the past couple of seasons James Graham has been a natural leader in the dressing room as has Leon Pryce.
“Kyle has a lot more responsibility this season as he has to run the game now. I think he is more than capable to doing that and he will have some very experienced players alongside him too.”
Saints home opener against Hull kicks off at 5.45pm on Saturday February 6 – and tickets are now on sale from both club shops and online at www.saintssuperstore.com
You can save £1.50 by advance purchasing your ticket 48 hours before matchday.
