Jones receives 400-up honour

3rd Sep 2007, 10:53am

The Saints' Heritage Society has been making a series of awards for players who have played more than 400 games for the club.

The player receives a silver salver and an illustrated scroll, giving season-by-season details of appearances.

Last Friday at the Black Bull, home of the Saints' Original Supporters Club, Les Jones received his award from Tom Van Vollenhoven.

Les was delighted - he watched Tom from the terraces when he was young and took over the number two jersey from him when Tom retired in 1968.

Les is aslo Saints' second-highest try-scorer behind Tom.
