Anderson looking forward to Wigan clash

29th Apr 2008, 11:37am

Wellens should return for the \'Magic\' clash.
Daniel Anderson believes the Millennium Magic weekend is one of the Rugby League’s greatest occasions.

Speaking ahead of Saints’ clash with Wigan on Sunday May 4, 6.30pm, he said the venue is World Class and that he is looking forward to pitting his wits against Wigan once more.

“Cardiff is a great city and the field and venue is simply a world class facility,” he said. “It will be a great occasion and we go there intent on winning.”

Daniel expects to have Paul Wellens, Leon Pryce and Mike Bennett back for the fixture alongside Jon Wilkin and Jason Cayless who picked up knocks in the 30-22 win at Warrington last Friday.

Definitely out is Paul Sculthorpe who tore his pectoral in the match (two to three weeks), Maurie Fa’asavalu and Kyle Eastmond alongside long term absentees Nick Fozzard and Matty Smith.

“Maurie has damaged his ankle ligaments and won’t play this week,” Anderson added. “It came as a result of a tackle by Warrington's Rob Parker. He has been warned about his tackling style and thankfully the Rugby Football League has outlawed this form of WWF move.

“Kyle will be out for a month with a nasty shoulder injury; then will be reassessed when he comes back into training.”

Saints will wear their blue away kit at the match on Sunday and the referee is Phil Bentham.
