RFL offers discounts for internationals

The RFL has announced that it is offering families discounted tickets for this autumn’s international matches and up to 20 per cent off for season ticket holders.

The move follows the success of June’s Frontline Test Match against France at Headingley Carnegie which saw all 3,000 family tickets available for the game sold out well in advance.

Keen to attract a similar number of families to the historic Gillette Fusion Centenary International and the Gillette Fusion Test Series against New Zealand, the RFL has decided to launch a family ticket priced just £35.  This ticket is for two adults and two children and would normally cost at least £60.

The loyalty of all engage Super League and Co-operative National League club season ticket holders is also being rewarded, with discounts of up to 20 per cent being offered.

Kevan Williams, the RFL’s Customer Service Centre Manager, said: “The four international matches this autumn are all going to be memorable and historic occasions and we want to attract as many people there as possible.  June’s Frontline Test Match was fantastic as we attracted so many families to the game which made for an excellent atmosphere.

“Both the season ticket and family offers are great value for money and I hope the rugby league public will turn out in force to cheer on their national side.”

The first international match this autumn is the historic Gillette Fusion Centenary International at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones stadium on 20 October.

The match will celebrate the fact that international competition between Rugby League nations began 100 years ago this year when a team representing New Zealand toured the UK and played against a side representing clubs in the Northern Union.

The so called New Zealand ‘All Golds’ also selected one guest Australian player who toured with them.  In October the ‘All Golds’ will be coached by Brisbane Broncos boss Wayne Bennett and will feature guest player Steve Price from the New Zealand Warriors.

The following weekend will see the start of Great Britain’s final three games on home soil before the transition to England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in time for next year’s Rugby League World Cup in Australia.

The dates of this autumn’s international game are as follows:
