Saints U19s kept up the pressure at the top of the table with a frustrating 30-8 win at near neighbours Warrington.

Comfortably in the lead at half time the Saints failed to capitalise on their first half supremacy with a poor second half display.

Jack Welsby opened the scoring on quarter time closely followed by a try to Kev Brown.

The score stayed the same until just before half time when the Saints took a decisive grip on the game scoring twice.

Ryan Horne scored the first with Josh Simm scoring on the whistle. Simm converted the first with Cal Hazard converting Simm’s try.

Warrington hit back with the first score of the second period and continued to frustrate the Saints.

The game was over as a contest when Simm went over for his second try with quarter of an hour to go.

A try five minutes from time looked to have given the home side a degree of respectability but this was well and truly washed away as straight from the restart Tom Nisbet returned the ball 105 metres for an outstanding individual try.

The Saints now get ready for the visit of the Wildcats in the curtain raiser on Friday, yet another team who got too close for comfort when the sides met earlier in the season.
