Away Supporter Guide to JJB

16th Jul 2008, 1:33pm

Wigan Warriors are pleased to offer all Rugby League supporters a Great Night Out at the JJB Stadium.

Great family entertainment is mixed with world class facilities and exhilarating live Super League action to provide an experience and atmosphere that is second-to-none.

Friday night’s game kicks off at 8pm with live entertainment from 7.20pm featuring chart-topping dance outfit Dario G.

Dario G hit number 2 in the UK charts in 1997 with the anthemic ‘Sunchyme’ which sold over two million copies in Europe, while their follow up single ‘Carnaval De Paris’ was so successful that it became the theme tune to the 1998 football World Cup. This success was followed by the album Sunmachine and in March 2000 their song Voices was used in the film The Beach.

‘Dream To Me’ was released in December 2000 reaching number 9 in the UK Singles Chart while the Top 40 hits ‘Say What's On Your Mind’ and ‘Heaven Is Closer’ followed and their latest single ‘Ring of Fire’ was a hit across European holiday resorts.

Speaking ahead of the JJB Stadium performance Dario G said:

“We are really looking forward to playing in Wigan; the last time we were in town the crowd response was great. We will be performing our big crowd pleasing tracks and we hope that Wigan proves its status as the noisiest crowd in the North West.”

The pre-match build up will also feature fans favourite, tenor Martin Toal, who since his last performance at the JJB has performed the national anthem at the new Wembley Stadium as well as making special appearances for tennis legends Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg & John McEnroe and at former Wigan hero Jason Robinson’s benefit event.

Warriors mascot Max and Super Sid the Savings Pig will be making an appearance with the Walkabout Maxterblaster firing more mini balls out into the crowd before the teams take to the field for the big kick off at 8.00pm.

The half time show will feature the Golden Gamble draw (tickets on sale for just £1 each) where another lucky fan could win up to £2,000 as well as the Walkabout Challenge and Walkabout Warrior Girls.

The ever-popular Showcase Stage returns with highly-rated new kids on the block ‘The Morettis’ performing from 7.00pm. The local band have already made a great impression playing gigs around the area including a performance at the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool.

“We can't wait to play for a new audience," explained singer Nick, "It's a great chance to show them what we can do and maybe pick up a few new fans.”
