Saints Community Development Team now boasts a string of highly qualified and dedicated coaches.

The team deliver coaching throughout the region focusing on the core elements of Rugby League.

In recent years coaching has increased in the St Helens area, but sessions and courses are now being systematically delivered to further afield including Knowsley, Liverpool and Chorley.

Saints Community Coach, Carl Edwards, explained: “The number and ability of the coaches we now have allows us to stretch across the borough and beyond. Rugby League coaching has developed immensely in recent years and we tailor our sessions to suit different groups with tag, contact, basics and more advance sessions.

“We teach to both sexes, and all abilities and try to ensure the session are linked to the curriculum whilst making them enjoyable to deliver positive lifestyle messages. The coaches get great satisfaction from the work we deliver and the knock on affect to youngsters across their communities.

“Coaching takes places at Knowsley Road, as well as at schools, clubs and leisure facilities.”
