Twenty-one local primary schools converged on Liverpool St. Helens Rugby Union club for the 2007 'Saints' Whittle Cup. The festival which has established itself as a premier sporting event within the schools competitions calendar is delivered through a partnership between St. Helens RLFC community team and St. Helens Council sports development team. All of the participating schools are involved in the 'earth' sportsmatch smartschool programme.

The skill level and competition was as fierce as ever with Sherdley and Bleak Hill emerging as the overall finalists in the main competition with Chapel End and St. Peters contesting the Plate final. Both finals resulted in epic encounters with Sherdley edging out Bleak Hill by three try's to two in the Whittle Cup Final to claim the spoils for 2007. In the Plate final Chapel End managed to score in the 12th minute of extra time to claim victory.
