Challenge St. Helens - 5k and 1K Charity Run is an exciting new family event for the people of St. Helens, scheduled to take place on 14th September 2008 in and around St. Helens Town Centre.

2,000 runners of mixed ability will take part in either the 5k Race or the 1k Family Fun Run………. Run, Jog or Walk it’s up to you!

There will be an assortment of health related attractions and free entertainment around Victoria Square in front of the Town Hall where both races will Start and Finish.

The build up begins from 10am; with the 5K Race starting at 1pm, followed immediately by the under 12’s and their parents running in the 1K Family Fun Run.

The event aims to raise money to support three deserving charities, namely Macmillan Cancer Support, Willowbrook Hospice and Friends of Mulanje Orphans.

Participants can choose the charity they wish to run for and any sponsorship money they raise will go directly to their chosen charity.
