Three Into One Is Fine Says Potter

31st Jan 2010, 9:00am

MICK Potter says Saints are in a great position having three quality hookers in their squad.

Speculation has persisted over how Keiron Cunningham, James Roby and Scott Moore will be used this season.

But Potter doesn’t see a problem. “I don’t it is a major issue. You need two hookers in your squad anyway and there are three in many other teams... perhaps ours are a little more high profile.

“Scott can play at 13, 6 and 7 whilst Robes can do 11, 12, 13 and 6 too. Given some time, he would be a good outside back as well!

“All three will be in our 17 man squad and we’ll mix and match depending on the game and the workload of the players.”

Saints kick off their Super League XV campaign against Hull FC on Saturday February 6 at 5.45pm – and tickets are selling well.

“Having everyone available for the first game of the season will be a first and I have the unenviable task of a coach of deciding who to leave out.

“It will be a good big night against Hull and getting a good start is crucial.  Sean Long and Kyle Eastmond will get their first real run outs of the season and it will be fantastic.

“They are two different half backs playing their own game. Kyle is built for speed, has dynamic acceleration and a great kicking game. Longy comes up with the right plays at the right time.

“It will be a great evening.”
