Robes Scoops Award

JAMES ROBY has been named the Engage Super League Player of the Month.

As exclusively revealed in the latest edition on League Weekly, the St Helens star has scooped the official prize for April ahead of two nominees from the high-flying Catalan Dragons.

The impressive Dragons, who extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 13-12 home win over Huddersfield, had both half back Scott Dureau and second rower Steve Menzies up for the prize.

But Englishman Roby narrowly pipped his two rivals in the vote by the men who know the game the best – the Engage Super League coaches.

Catalan haven’t gone empty handed however as their boss Trent Robinson has been named as the official Engage Super League Coach of the Month for April.

The Australian claimed the honour after masterminding a remarkable turnaround in fortunes in the south of France.

Harlequins’ first season coach Rob Powell took the award for February, with March’s trophy going to Warrington boss Tony Smith.
