Day 16: Scuba!

MIKE Rush’s blog of the Academy Tour to Australia continues…

The squad made the best of the cool weather and got in an early morning session.

At present we only have two injured players who at this stage look like they will not be available for selection for our final game with Penrith.

The lads then spent the afternoon at Shelley Beach near Manly and enjoyed a Scuba lesson.

The players went out in groups of four with one instructor; they then had the chance to undertake a number of basic activities like cleaning their mask and learning to balance their equipment so they could move on through the water in the most effective manner.

All but one of the players were able to have a crack at the activity and most were able to undertake a full drive after a small induction.

The evening had the players back on the field in preparation for the last game against Penrith on Saturday night.

There were a few good gaffs today but you will have to wait as my bed is calling after a long day…

Just one quick one came from Matty Fozard: “Have I got these fins on the correct feet?”

Enjoy the photos.
