IN preparation for the upcoming Academy and Under 20s season, the Saints took the players to Altcar Army base in Formby.
Led by RAF instructors, the lads were put through their paces with a physical training session focussing on the key principles of Teamwork, Leadership and Communication, followed by tackling challenges on their intense assault course.
“The morning was a huge success and the players really took on board the messages that the RAF were putting across,” explained Ian Talbot Under 20s Head Coach. “Naturally the British December weather played its part which all added to the intensity, but the players mental toughness was superb and it all stands us in good stead for the tough season ahead.”
