Rush: Cats Playing Well

MIKE Rush has identified Tim Smith as one of the key pivots in the Wakefield team.

As he prepares Saints for tonight’s Super League clash between the two sides he pointed to the number 7 as a reason why the Cats are playing so well.

“He is playing really well for them isn’t he and has a lot of players running off him too,” Rush said. “Wakefield ran Warrington and Leeds really closely so we know it isn’t going to be an easy task. They’ve picked up some good wins and beat Salford recently too. Richard Agar will want the two points as much as we do really.

“We need to deal with what is in front of us and not look at anything else. Our minds will be on the job in hand.”

Saints named Anthony Laffranchi and Jon Wilkin in the 19 whilst Ade Gardner and Tony Puletua are still a few weeks away.

Rush added: “The crowd have been a big factor and we need to keep those fans turning up as it is vital for the long term future of the club.

“We’ve had a rocky start but we are now climbing the table. We want to keep on picking up points. Every team will go through peak and troughs so we need to keep turning in performances and picking up points each week.”

Tickets are still on sale for tonight’s match from Langtree Park and by calling 01744 455 052. There will also be cash turnstiles on the North and East Stands.
