SAINTS have announced new contracts for Josh Jones and Carl Forster.
Josh, 19, has signed a new three-year deal whilst Carl, 20, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
“Both Josh and Carl have worked hard since joining our Academy system and have progressed to the first team squad on the back of their dedication,” said Acting Head Coach Mike Rush. “They now need to continue their development and keep their feet on the ground.
“If they do that there’s no doubt they can have big futures in the game.”
Josh made his debut at Warrington Wolves earlier in the season and has gone on to appear eight times for the Saints in the centres – scoring four tries.
Originally from Chorley, he played for Leyland Warriors, Chorley Panthers and Blackbrook as well as captaining England at 15s and 16s.
He also toured Australia with Saints Academy in 2009.
Carl Forster is a big forward who signed from Pilkington Recs.
He was promoted to the first team squad in 2011 but a shoulder injury meant he couldn’t make his debut until September.
He played in the all English side that beat Harlequins on September 10 and has since made three appearances off the bench this season as well as playing at Swinton Lions on dual registration.
