JONNY Lomax looks set to miss Saints’ trip to Widnes Vikings on Sunday with a rib injury.
He sustained the problem in last Friday’s 34-28 win over Hull KR and had to miss Wednesday’s International Origin game as a result.
Lance Hohaia is expected to return from a foot injury to partner Lee Gaskell in the halves.
Acting Head Coach Mike Rush told The St Helens Star: “We have the week off after the Widnes game so I won’t be resting any players up. Widnes have played on Monday, so there is not that much difference between them backing up and some of our lads playing Wednesday to Sunday.
“We have to keep at the forefront of our minds what they did to us in the last seven minutes of that Challenge Cup tie. They are at home and coming in to the game off the back of a good win against Castleford and will be looking towards building a new team and attitude with the guys they have brought in.”
All Saints’ representatives in the International Origin match came through unscathed.
