LIKE Jon Wilkin earlier in the week, Mike Rush has also moved to bring a touch of reality to Saturday’s win over Warrington Wolves.
After the game he praised his charges for their defensive effort but said all the victory had done was ensure Saints would get a weekend off.
“We will rest and recover this weekend and hopefully reap the benefits of that,” Rush said. “We wanted a weekend off, but we didn’t want to make a big thing of it. The most important thing was to get a good performance and if we got that then we knew we had a chance.
“Playing Wigan and Warrington in back to back weeks is a good thing as it gets the players prepared for high-intensity football.
“But nothing is won yet and we will have a massive game at Langtree Park next weekend.”
