SAINTS are pleased with the six players named in the England Youth and Academy squads.
Fresh from the Australia tour Luke Thompson (right) has retained his and he joined by Greg Richards (left) in a squad that will be take on France in March.
Local St Helens players Aaron Smith, Liam Cooper and Jake Campbell are joined by Wigan based Lewis Fairhurst in the England Youth set up who will take on Wales.
“We are thrilled for the lads that have been selected in these squads,” Derek Traynor Academy Head Coach said. “They have all been with us in the Scholarship and Academy from the earliest age possible and these squad places are just reward for their hard work and dedication.
“We also count ourselves unlucky not to have had more players selected in these squads and rest assured we will keep working hard to ensure all our juniors have the best opportunity at progression in our sport.
“These selections are testament to the excellent relationships we have with all the community clubs who deserve recognition for their hard work over the years.”
