ANTHONY Laffranchi says he took the defeat to Huddersfield personally and has vowed to put it right this weekend.
The Australian international was part of the pack that was physically dominated by the Giants on Saturday and subsequently fell to a 40-4 home defeat.
“We’ve reviewed the game and know we have to put it to bed and put it right,” he said. “Individually we need to work on our game and improve for this week.
“It was really disappointing; we have a formidable pack there and it is the forwards that win the game and I take it personally. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t get the team going and we were dominated.
“We’d had good preparation in pre-season and in the friendlies so I felt we were on front foot – therefore to dish that up on Saturday was disappointing. They fielded a strong side and wanted the two points more than we did.
“Browny (Nathan Brown) gave us the structure and it would have worked if we would have stuck to it.”
Saints will have to get back on the horse on Sunday when they travel to Widnes (3pm).
“It will be a quick game there and we know what to expect,” Boof continued. “We train on an artificial pitch so it’s not alien to us.
“It will be a naturally quicker game so we will have to be defensively strong and dominate around the play the ball and control the speed of the match.”
