Soliola Up For Big Tie

SIA Soliola insists Saints will be ‘revved’ up for the game at Hull KR.

The big second rower knows the importance of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup and how important it is to produce a much better performance against the Robins this time out.

“It will be a tough game,” he said. “They showed what they are capable of when we played them last week and the boys are revved up for this one.

“A few of us, including myself, didn’t have the best of games up there and we really want to get back on a winning streak.

“The Cup is big for Saints and I have never been to Wembley. I have been told it is one of the most magical places to play. Hull KR is the first hurdle in realising that dream.

“Last time out they came off a bad loss to Wigan. The big thing for us was our attitude and the way we approached the game. We had a game plan set but it was one of those games that came down to inches.

“We lack a bit of size at the moment but compensate that with energy. Alex Walmsley and Josh Jones bring loads of that and are a breath of fresh air. It is what we need.

“I’m an older player in the team now so I have more responsibility to bring energy and lift the team through defence too. We have a younger side this year and I’m enjoying helping them out.

“I think we have done well considering the injuries we have. It has been good to blood the youngsters too. You want to get results, of course, but you have to take the positives too.”
