Brown: Time To Build

NATHAN Brown is looking for Saints to build on the win over Leeds Rhinos when they face Warrington on Saturday.

His charges ran in six tries in the come from behind victory – but that will count for nothing if they don’t continue to improve this weekend.

“It was a good end result for as they started well and got to a commanding lead,” Brown said. “Considering what has happened over the past four weeks the guys showed good resolve to hang in there. We were proud of them and now we have to build on that.

“We had a fair bit more experience in the side and players in their accustomed positions. We put people back in the positions they have played in the majority of their career or where they have played a number of games and that helped the younger players.

“The young kids contributed well I thought. Luke Thompson did it tough early on but his second stint was really good.

“It was good to get on the board after a lean four weeks but we have to build on that.”

Brown says the squad came through the Rhinos clash in good shape but he isn’t sure if any players will return from injury this weekend.

James Roby has a chance but if he isn’t 100 per cent he won’t play.

“Warrington have been playing really well and are always hard to beat,” Brown continued. “They have their strengths but we are putting ourselves back together.

“We need to focus on tidying up our own areas, getting our backyard in order and building combinations.”
