Brown: We Were Poor

NATHAN Brown didn’t mince his words as Saints lost 24-12 at home to Hull KR.

“We had a little effort but our response to the first decision, which I thought wasn’t the correct one from the in goal judge, wasn’t good enough.

“They came up with a good kick for the second and from there we never got in the contest. Our attack was shocking.

“It was the most disappointing performance by far we have produced since I have been here.

“In wet conditions we were just going up to the line and playing out of the back, they kept jamming us and got the ball back. They didn’t do it once they did it 20 or 30 times. They were kicking the ball behind our wingers and that is how you play wet weather football.

“They kept coming up, forcing errors and made our attack look bad. We weren’t very smart.

“It was disappointing for the fans who have been turning up in their numbers and they should have seen a side that was capable of doing better.”

He continued: “We have James Roby, Jonny Lomax and Willie Manu back and players playing in key positions and we have been building well since the second half of the Huddersfield game and over the last couple of weeks. Tonight we took a step backwards.

“We have the talent there and we need to playe better than we were tonight. I can’t take anything away from Hull KR but I wouldn’t have thought we would be that poor.”
