15 games, 13 wins, one draw, one loss…
Not a bad record at all!
Saints 2013 Academy tourists are following in the footsteps of four successful trips.
In the inaugural tour of Australia in 2004, Saints defeated Wests Tigers 42-12, Chifley 20-0 and then edged Penrith 22-20.
Two years later the 2006 tour repeated the success with three wins and a draw.
They beat Newcastle 22-16, West Magpies 14-0 and Penrith 6-4 whilst drawing 16 apiece with Balmain.
In 2009, wins over Wests Tiger Clubs (18-6), Balmain (36-6) and Penrith (16-10) followed but the side were pipped by a strong Cronulla 34-20.
And the last tour brought victories against West Tigers (26-6), Central Coast (36-14), Cronulla Sharks (30-22) and Penrith Panthers (20-14).
This year, the Academy will take on:
October 13: Saints v St George
October 16: Saints v Central Coast
October 20: Saints v Wests Tigers
October 26: Saints v Penrith
The squad prepped for the tour with a trip to the Brathay Trust in Ambleside.
They took part in a two-day team building camp in the Lake District.
