SAINTS Academy got an extra special surprise on their tour when new signing Luke Walsh popped in to see their progress.
The scrum half, who joined from Penrith Panthers, spent time with the squad and staff as they continued their Tour of Australia.
He also met director Joe Nicholl and Academy Head Coach Derek Traynor as well as St Helens legends Tommy Martyn and Eric Chisnall.
“It was great to meet Luke, his partner and young boy and see his passion for the game,” Mike Rush said. “He spoke with great knowledge of the club, has a real desire to be successful and is looking forward to the challenge.
“He’s already looking forward to playing alongside Jonny Lomax and James Roby and told us he’s kept an eye on them all season.”
Luke has received all his paperwork and is now ready to come over to Saints for the start of pre-season.
