DAY 11: IT was a ‘double’ day on the training field for all the players and staff today, writes Mike Rush.
The session gave us the chance to make sure we are ready to give it our best shot on Sunday evening when we play Wests Tigers (8am Sunday – British time, 6pm local time – at Campbelltown Oval).
The staff have once again been able to get plenty done with the young squad due to the great weather we are currently enjoying in Penrith.
In between the training sessions the group visited the famous SCG for the traditional tour photo.
Despite the ground being under reconstruction, the management were kind enough to allow the group on to the Oval to keep up with tradition.
All the players enjoyed the experience and more than an hour later we were back on road for a short trip across to Bondi.
The players had a few hours away from the staff with most heading down to the beach and a few went for a shopping spree around the surf shops.
As you can see from the pictures, the evening training session was undertaken in one of the best settings Sydney has to offer – Dover Heights.
The players all passed comment on the location with many noting it was the same place as the well-known Beer advert…
No names as I would not like to upset our great sponsors Robinsons.
Being on tour and not getting an early win can easily break a group.
However, these players are just eager to learn and can’t wait for the next opportunity to play even though they are a very young squad.
All the players and staff are a credit to our great club and hopefully we can continue to enjoy both the on and off field life experience this trip has given us.
