IT is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Steve Prescott MBE.
Steve was a well-loved player, colleague and friend at the Saints and everyone sends their sympathies and thoughts to his family.
On behalf of all at and associated with the St.Helens Club, Chairman Eamonn McManus stated:
“Our thoughts and prayers are entirely with Steve’s family, in particular his wife Linzi, and young sons Koby and Taylor, at this extremely sad time.
“Steve will be remembered as an utterly extraordinary and selfless human being. He not only fought and held at bay a terrible and terminal illness for many years, but he used it to channel all his incredible personality, energies and time solely for the benefit of others rather than himself.
“He was not merely a great rugby player, he was a truly magnificent person and a proud son of St.Helens who we were all blessed to have known and whose memory and lasting legacy we will always cherish.”
