Lomax: Working Hard

SIGNING an extended contract was an easy decision to make for Jonny Lomax and now he’s looking forward to the season starting.

The 23-year-old inked a four-year contract last week and is set to line up against Warrington tomorrow.

“I’m a St Helens lad, have supported them all my life and stood on the terraces at Knowsley Road so I’m, pleased to have re-signed.” he said. “I began talking to the club last year and I was never in a rush to sign as I wanted to make sure I was playing well. There was no doubt in the end.

“I’m excited about this season. We have had a good and long pre-season and hopefully we can get the result at Warrington and kick on.

“Championships aren’t won in February but it is always good to get a good start.

“Idealistically, you’d want to win every game but realistically that is tough task to achieve. You can get injuries like we did last year but we did well because the younger lads came in and did a cracking job.

“Everyone in the camp is working hard to make sure we go one better than last year.”

Saints travel to Warrington tomorrow (Thursday) before hosting Hull FC on Friday February 21.

Tickets for these games remain on sale from the Ticket Office at Langtree Park, by calling 01744 455 052 or by logging on here.
