SAINTS take on Hull FC this Friday aiming to continue their positive start to the new First Utility Super League season.
Nathan Brown’s men thrashed Warrington Wolves 38-8 last Thursday but he admitted they will have to play a lot better to beat the Humbersiders.
Luke Walsh and Kyle Amor are set to grace Langtree Park ‘in anger’ for the first time whilst the new young back line will no doubt entertain the home faithful with their speed and skills.
And it will be a special and poignant day too as we celebrate the life of Steve Prescott MBE.
The game will be the first leg of the inaugural Steve Prescott Cup – with the second coming at the KC Stadium on August 1.
It will also feature tributes to Steve and a past player guard of honour for his sons Taylor and Koby.
The lads will also be mascots for the game whilst brother Neil will take the matchball onto the Langtree Park pitch.
Both teams will also be wearing special commemorative warm up sweatshirts supplied by ISC.
The Steve Prescott Foundation will hold a bucket collection too with the Club donating £5 from each PRESCOTT 1 shirt printing to the charity in the run up to the match.
St Helens Council are also planning a permanent reminder by renaming the bridge that links up Langtree Park with the Town Centre.
An unveiling ceremony before the game kicks off at around 5.30pm.
Saints kick off their Langtree Park season on Friday February 21 as Hull FC come to town.
