Brown: Widnes Challenge

NATHAN Brown says Widnes Vikings are a side to be reckoned with this season.

Saints will travel to the Select Stadium tomorrow to face Denis Betts’ resurgent side.

And although both teams head into the game on the back of a rare loss, the match is set to be a cracker.

“They attack well and challenge you right across the park,” Brown said. “Denis has them going well.”

Saints and Widnes will ring the changes after a bruising derbies on Friday.

Both coaches also have one eye on next weekend’s big Tetley’s Challenge Cup fifth round ties.

Leeds host Saints whilst Widnes travel to Salford.

“The reality is we’re both in the same boat and have a cup game coming up,” Brown continued. “We have plans in place for the Easter weekend but we’ll have to see who pulls up.

“There are a number of players who need to play on Monday and play well. There are a number of people who need to get out there and put in a good performance so they then can go into the Leeds game with plenty of confidence.

“Thankfully, us and Widnes and Leeds are in same boat when it comes to choosing our teams.”
