PAUL Wellens says Warrington will provide the sternest of tests when the two sides clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Saints will take on the Wolves at 5pm on Sunday to round off the Magic Weekend extravaganza.
“Where Warrington sit on the ladder isn’t a reflection of how good they are as a team,” he said. “We have to prepare well.
“You only have to look at the team – the likes of Ratchford, Westwood for instance – they have fantastic players and we saw with their performance against Catalan what they are capable of.
“They play expansive and are getting better week on week.”
Wello is a season ticket holder at Man City but missed the Champion’s Premier League party on Sunday as Saints faced Bradford.
But he was more than happy to do so.
“I gave my brother my ticket and I’m sure he loved it,” he added. “I’d rather be playing rugby anyway and duty called. It was a good performance over at Bradford and I was delighted to be part of it.
“We showed a lot of improvement especially in defence. That area of our game hasn’t been good and we have been working on it.
“Speaking about it isn’t enough though, we had to show it through our actions and the players turned up with the right attitude which was reflected in the performance.
“We need to build on the last two weeks and we will face a strong Warrington team.”
Saints have a limited number of unreserved tickets remaining for Sunday’s game which can be bought from the Ticket Office at Langtree Park, by calling 01744 455 052 or by logging on here.
