PREPARATIONS are well underway for the defence of Saints’ Super League crown and they will crank up a notch when two local and fierce rivals come to Langtree Park.
The Champions’ pre-season campaign will see them take on Widnes Vikings and Wigan Warriors.
Keiron Cunningham’s charges will face the Vikings on Sunday January 18 (3pm) before the Warriors come to town on Sunday January 25 (3pm).
The Vikings made the playoffs under Denis Betts last season and look set to be even stronger this campaign.
Aaron Heremaia, Manase Manuokafoa and Chris Clarkson have all joined the squad with Kevin Brown named as Captain.
Saints – Wigan games need no introduction and there is no such thing as a friendly when the two sides meet.
The Warriors, of course, were Saints opponents in the Grand Final… and we all know what happened that day.
Saints took home the Championship 14-6 and there’s no doubt both sides will want to lay down a marker ahead of the season.
Tickets for both matches are now on sale to Season Ticket Holders who can claim their ‘spec’ up until Dec 10.

Prices in the Solarking South and Totally Wicked North Stands will be £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and Juniors £5.
