KEIRON Cunningham says there are plenty of options following the loss of Kyle Amor and Travis Burns.
The duo were banned at last night’s Disciplinary leaving Saints with a couple of changes to make ahead of this Friday’s match at Wakefield.
“The squad is in good health and everyone is more or less injury free,” KC said. “We have plenty of options to choose from. Andre (Savelio) has been in decent form and there are a number of juniors or fringe players I am confident to drop in. Josh Jones can drop into the pack too.
“We have options in the halves too. Paul Wellens can come in as can Jordan Turner – provided he passes all the medical tests following his concussion – and Lance Hohaia.
“We’ll see how we train but it doesn’t concern me too much.”
Saints head into the game with three wins from three in Super League – and on the back of a tough encounter with Castleford which came just five days after the World Club Challenge.
“I said after the game I was proud of what they players did and when I look back in hindsight with how Warrington and Wigan struggled then it was a significant performance and result for us.
“We didn’t really get out on the field in the build up to the Castleford game. It was a case of getting the legs moving and more about recovery. We looked a bit underdone in training and in the game – but we got the two points and that was important.
“The boys are going good and long may that continue.
“Wakefield are well coached; they play a lot of rugby and throw the ball about. They have a lot of attacking threat across the park. It will be a big test for the players to do a job as I’m sure Wakefield will be much different from the side that lost at Widnes.
“Defence will be key and we’re happy it. We’ve worked a lot in pre-season on our defensive structure and we do look like a well-coached team at times when you watch us. The hard work is paying off but we need to keep that going and stick to those same principals week in week out.”
