SAINTS welcome Travis Burns back into the fold this Friday following his one-week suspension.
The half back has slotted easily into life at the club and says the environment is as close to an NRL club as it gets.
“The club have been fantastic and are great from top to bottom,” he said. “It has been an easy transition for me. All I have to do is worry about playing. I am happy with my form but know I can be better.
“We aren’t playing our best but considering we are the second best attacking side and by far and away the best defensive side… and we’re not playing our best footy… then the signs are good going forward.
“To go and win at Wakefield which hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us in the past was great; especially in those circumstances.
“We had players out before the game and then lost three during it so to grind out a win and come from behind was great. I’m sure we will look back at that game later in the year and say it was one of our best wins.
“I didn’t think we deserved to lose. We were the better side but did a few silly things at silly times. It was a massive win for the club.
“We said at half time that a win would galvanise us and I think it is going to. There were a million excuses for us to walk off a beaten side but we got the two points and that is what we do at this club. We go into every game expecting to win.”
Saints face Widnes this Friday and Travis is expecting a tough clash.
“Widnes have quality players, good forwards, a good full back and a good half in Kevin Brown,” he added. “We will have to be on our game and go in with the right attitude so we can come away with the win.
“Every minute does matter and if you’re not on your game you will get beat. We will do everything we can to be ready to face a fierce Widnes team.”
