19s Carry On Where They Left Off

SAINTS started the second stage of the season with a fabulous 30-6 win at the KC Lightstream Stadium on Saturday, writes Graham Henthorne.

The ground has been a bit of a graveyard for the Saints in recent seasons with the U19s finding it as hard a place to go to as the First Team have.

But all that changed as they well and truly put the hoodoo to bed with a dominant second half display.

Led from the front by Ross McCauley and Morgan Knowles the Saints ran in five second half tries.

The dominance of the forward pack allowed the hookers to run the show with josh Eaves and Aaron Smith chipping in with three of the Saints six tries.

There was another great performance off the bench from Levy Nzoungou who showed the subtler side to his game with some great offloads which allowed Danny Richardson to control the outside backs.

Calvin Wellington continues to improve and he scored the Saints other try in what was an emphatic victory.
