Swift: Continue Good Form

ADAM Swift wants to carry his strong form of 2015 into the new season.

After starting the year “a little ropey” in his own words, the winger lit up the try-scoring charts with 22 four pointers.

Now, it’s all about finding and maintaining that consistency.

“I came into form in the middle of the season and finished the season well,” he said. “I want to maintain that and take it into pre-season and the New Year.

“Last year we progressed especially in the pack, and this season we have brought in a couple more backs that will certainly improve us.

“It keeps up the pressure on me and Tommy – we have Jack (Owens) and Matty Dawson breathing down our necks.

“Dominique Peyroux can also come into the centres as well. We’ve certainly strengthened in those areas and that is important.”

Saints will return to pre-season over the next two weeks – and begin the long process of getting ready for the campaign.

Goals will be set, bodies will be flogged!

“It’s not a nice time!” Swift added. “The first few days will be all about testing and seeing where we are and then the session intensity increases. We’ll get away for a few days to bond too.

“One of my goals of the new season is winning the Challenge Cup. Growing up that was the one for me. I want to be a part of it.”
