KEIRON Cunningham says Saints are looking forward to the challenge of the Sydney Roosters this Friday.
His side lock horns with the NRL 2015 Minor Premiers in this year’s World Club Series.
And following defeat to Salford he believes there is no better test as Saints aim to bounceback.
“It was been a tough weekend for sure,” he said. “It isn’t easy losing games and it was difficult to take, but we have to move on and focus on the next game.
“These lows make you appreciate the highs.
“The senior players looked good in training and I’m happy with their response.
“There is no better test of that than challenging yourself against a team of the calibre of the Roosters.”
He continued: “It’s a game we want to be involved in. We don’t want to be watching on the telly and wondering how we would have done against them.
“It will be a massive battle. We have a couple of games under our belt ahead of them but we know their strike and they are one of the strongest sides in rugby league. I have always admired how they play and I’ve had good friends who have gone there and played. Trent Robinson is a good coach too.”
Saints will be missing Mark Percival this Friday as he is set to miss the next three or so months with a knee injury.
“It’s a blow but he will be back,” Keiron added. “It’s a case of finding a balance. We are light on outside backs at the moment but we will pick the strongest and most balanced side we can.
“We know what we have to do and are looking forward to it. We didn’t do ourselves justice last year and we are out to show we are better than that.”
