LAMA Tasi says tonight’s clash with Sydney Roosters will be one of the biggest of his career as he prepares for just his third competitive game with his new teammates.
The Samoa international, who joined Saints from Salford Red Devils during the off season, said: “It’s going to be a great challenge.
“We’re not only representing our club, but we’re representing Super League as well which I take a lot of pride in.
“We’ll be playing against one of the best teams in the NRL so it will be a good test to see where we’re at as a team.
“It will be one of the biggest games of my career.
“St Helens are a massive club with a proud history and I’m honoured to represent them in such a big game.”
Looking ahead to the 8pm kick off at Langtree Park, Tasi says he is excited to face some of his former teammates and believes a fast start will be key if Saints are to come out on top.
“It should be interesting to play against some of my old team mates,” he said.
“It’s not something I’ve done a lot before, so it will be interesting and maybe quite funny to play against and try bash up some old mates from my old club!
“I played with Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Kane Evans at the Roosters. I think they’ll both be players to look out for.
“But they’re strong all over the pitch and will probably use their big pack to work off and they’ll be hoping their backs can score their points.
“We just need to make sure we start fast and catch them cold.
“They will be up for it, but it’s their first game of the season and we’re already a couple of games in so we’re confident, if we can get on top of them early on, we’ll do well.”
