Oddballs Join Super League

NORTH East charity The Oddballs Foundation and First Utility Super League have joined forces to produce a limited edition pair of Magic Weekend Oddballs pants in time for fans to pack as part of their essentials for the Rugby League carnival at St James’ Park, Newcastle on Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22.

Oddballs aims to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer through the sale of underwear and accessories online and at events. Their goal is to make testicular cancer a talking point amongst males around the world, whilst also producing a household underwear brand.

Celebrity fans of Oddballs underwear include Alan Shearer, Mike Tindell, Mark Wright, Dame Kelly Holmes and popular Geordie duo Ant and Dec, as well as Rugby League teams around the UK.

Just like the event itself, the Magic Weekend edition of the pants features all 12 Super League clubs along with the Magic logo and comes in various sizes for men, women and teenagers.

Priced from £8.49, for each pair sold Oddballs will make a 10 per cent donation to Rugby League Cares – the sport’s charity dedicated to supporting the Rugby League family and its local communities.

Steve Harper (former Newcastle United goalkeeper & Patron of The Oddballs Foundation), who recently visited the Halliwell Jones Stadium for a photoshoot with Warrington Wolves, said: “The backing we are receiving in regards to Magic Weekend and in Rugby League is amazing – it’s exciting times for Oddballs.

“It’s a great design and good to see all the Super League teams on there. Oddballs are very happy with the product.

“Hopefully the fans will get behind this and buy a pair knowing that when they spend their money it’s being put to a worthwhile cause.

“Magic Weekend is a fantastic event that is very well supported. Being in and around Newcastle there is more talk of Rugby League and this event. Having spent some time at Hull I managed to catch a few games and know what a fantastic sport it is.”

Limited edition Magic Weekend Oddballs pants will be available to buy from Tuesday April 26 at www.myoddballs.com – available in men, women and teenager sizes from £8.49.

Tickets for Saints’ game with Huddersfield at the Magic Weekend can be bought from the Ticket Office, via 01744 455 052 or here.
