OWEN Smith has signed pro terms with the club after impressing on trial.
The 17-year-old back rower agrees an 18-month contract which will take him up until the end of his eligibility for the Club’s 19s Academy.
“Owen comes in from Halton Hornets U18s,” Academy head coach Derek Traynor said. “We have been keeping an eye on him for a while and he impressed on trial.
“He chose us over other Super League clubs in the area and has done enough to make us think he can go on and hopefully become a Super League player at the Saints.
“He has played for the 19s, and the reserves, and has shown he is capable of handling himself at both levels.”
Owen has played twice for the reserves to go alongside his four appearances for the 19s.
