THIS picture shows that Saints outstanding-rated Academy is continuing to produce first team players.
24 players from the club’s 35 man squad have come through the system.
After winning the Academy Grand Final last season, and going unbeaten, a number of the squad received promotion.
And now they have received the plaudits for their performance in Saints’ Karalius Cup win over Widnes.
“It was great to see how the juniors got on when we played Widnes,” head coach Keiron Cunningham said. “Away from the reaction of those players it was the excitement of their friends and their parents also. They have been Saints fans and running around since they were seven years old dreaming of playing for the club.
“They got the chance because they deserved it and did themselves and their families proud.
“When you throw juniors in and they don’t look out of place then you know they have a genuine shot. They all stood up tall.
“That picture we took on the field; 24 players from the first team squad are local products and have come through the system here, it is superb.
“I am proud of giving those players the chance and proud of that record.”
