Swift Sees Importance

Adam Swift says Saints clash with Warrington has “added importance” as both sides aim to climb the table.

Just two points separate the teams on the Betfred Super League ladder.

“It is always a significant game when we play Warrington and this one has added importance,” he said. “We are setting on top of each other in the table and the points are vital for when the separation comes. It will be a good game, an 80 minute slog, and hopefully we can come away with the points.

“We have to go in with the right attitude and complete our sets well. We have been trying to get ownership on our game and know if we execute to what we are capable of then teams will struggle against us.

“We will be missing players but the lads coming in know what to expect and will treat it like any other game.”

Swift put pen to paper on a new contract earlier in the season – and hit a milestone of playing 100 times for the club.

“I was over the moon to sign the deal,” he said. “It is surreal to think I have played more than 100 times for the club. I am a local lad who started watching us at six-years-old and then had a season ticket. I feel honoured and very lucky.

“Now I have to continue to work hard. I started the year off a little scratchy but I feel I am coming a little into my own now. I am gaining confidence on the right hand side and developing a partnership with Ryan Morgan.”
