Justin Holbrook says Saints know the size of the task facing them when they travel to Castleford on Sunday.
His side are only one of three to beat the Tigers this season – but fresh in the mind is recent Challenge Cup exit at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle.
“It will be a really tough game,” he said. “We have the luxury of having a full week’s training in preparation and we are pretty fortunate with that.
“Considering how well they are going we need as long as we can to get a gauge on how we need to play against them.
“We are one of the three sides to have beaten them so far this season but we were poor against them in the Cup. We don’t want to play like that again; we need to play a lot better than we did last time and I am sure we will.
“We have to try and stop them as they are lethal all over the park. We want to play more football too and have been working on that this week.
“But the main thing is stopping them.”
Holbrook expects Jonny Lomax to be available for selection this week but admits he doesn’t want to change a winning team around too much.
He continued: “Hopefully Jonny will be right to play this week. He has some training runs under his belt but we will see how he is at the end of the week. We don’t want to change it around too much though.
“It would be great to see a big away crowd over there. It will be one hell of a tough game so it would be great if a good crew of our fans travelled out to support the boys because I know they have got some good results over recent weeks and are trying really hard at training.
“The willingness for the playing group to learn is a real buzz for me. They have been fantastic with all their efforts on the field.
“They are doing all the right things to make the fans and the club proud of their performance.”
