There is a week to go until the State of Mind Betfred Super League round for 2017.
This year’s theme looks at the pressures of loss – be it a relationship, a job, income, a home or a bereavement, and how people can deal with it – under the hashtag #LETITOUT.
The State of Mind team and volunteers will be at games throughout Round 18 raising awareness of mental fitness and being on hand to offer support to fans and the Rugby League community.
Ahead of the round, there is a “Time to Move” walk between Rugby League grounds in the North West to raise awareness that physical fitness is good for your mental fitness.
Fans are encouraged to talk part in the routes on foot, on a bike, in a wheelchair or on roller skates.
On Saturday June 3, the walk starts at the Halton Stadium in Widnes at 11.00am, finishing at approximately 4.00pm at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens.
On Sunday June 4, the starting point is the DW Stadium in Wigan at 10.30am, going through to Leigh Sports Village via the State of Mind stall at Leigh Carnival of Colour.
Then on Monday June 5, the final leg of the campaign goes from Hollins Park in Winwick to the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington via the Sankey Valley Trail, starting at 3.00pm and arriving at the stadium for 5.00pm, in time for the Stadium Step Challenge – more information on this HERE.
State of Mind was established in 2011 in response to the tragic death of Terry Newton, to raise awareness of mental health issues, tackle stigma and signpost support to Rugby League players and fans.
No other sport in the UK has ever had a themed round of fixtures for mental wellbeing – 2017 is the seventh-year State of Mind has “taken over Super League”.

- St Helens v Widnes Vikings (Fri)
- Salford Red Devils v Hull FC (Fri)
